Tartan Tablecloth Reveal

Another repurposing project has finally been completed….. the tartan tablecloth and its matching napkins! The plan is to use this table linen when we have our Scottish Christmas themed Afternoon Tea Party.

This too was a sewing project that came about after finding a reasonably priced duvet set at a local Charity Shop. It just seemed to be the perfect thing to use as a source of fabric.

I think this overall finished set of table linen looks great, and it was an added lovely bonus that the project was also very budget-friendly due to the hoped for fabric being able to be obtained in a thrifty manner from a secondhand store.

I would quite like to keep a look out for other tartan items that could be made over, to perhaps create some additional napkins, however this set of four are a good start (and they certainly match this particular tablecloth perfectly).

Doing these upcycling and repurposing projects is very satisfying.

It is great when you achieve a goal and fulfill a vision, yet you have also managed to do so in a very budget-friendly manner. It is an additional additional perk that recycling, upcycling and repurposing items is very eco-friendly also.

I really enjoy sewing and crafting. When you can find just what you need in a thrift store or charity shop to help you save some dollars in relation to getting resources & materials for those handcrafted projects, it really is fantastic.

Yay, for another sewing project achieved that will add some special ambience to the table setting at a Christmasy tea party soon!
