This Christmas themed duvet set was another great find this week, when I was out doing a bit of charity shop shopping.
As soon as I saw it, I thought about how I wanted some Christmas themed aprons for the kitchen, and the fabric contained in this duvet set just seemed the perfect material to repurpose and use for making them!

So, that is going to be a little additional sewing project, over the next little while….this mama is going to be busily also working towards making some bright & happy Christmasy kitchen aprons!
There should be enough fabric able to be repurposed for this apron making project, that we may end up with several aprons…. so what an extra wonderful outcome that will be!

The duvet’s fabric is just so bright, happy and very Christmasy!
From memory, I think the complete duvet set (a single duvet cover and one pillowcase) was priced at $2.50, so it was a very budget-friendly purchase and as well as being an eco-friendly way to source a good amount of material for a specific sewing project.
I look forward to repurposing this duvet set into the very items wanted for future baking & cooking times in the kitchen. Making Christmas gingerbread & shortbread AND wearing a colourful, Christmas themed kitchen apron all at the same time…… how brilliant (literally!) that will be.
